Ratings: AMAs Audience Up Slightly from Last Year
The 2011 American Music Awards entertained 12.04 million fans — a 3 percent increase over last year — and posted a 4.3 rating in the 18-to-49 demographic, according to preliminary Nielsen overnights.

While the industry-prized demo ratings simply tied last year, the show did increase in various younger demographics, including teens 12-to-17 (24 percent) and women 18-to-34 (8 percent). And the overall 4.3 adult demo rating scored ABC's best Sunday night since the Oscars on Feb. 27.
NBC's NFL of course won Sunday night with a game between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants that wasn't decided until 85 seconds were left. And CBS' football overrun of nearly a half-hour skewed its numbers somewhat for all of prime time.
