LOL, Fox Is Developing a Sitcom Based on the Property Brothers

It Takes Two would be based on the Scott twins' memoir

Liam Mathews

I mean, I've heard worse ideas: Fox is developing a single-camera sitcom inspired by the lives of Property Brothers' Jonathan and Drew Scott, Variety reports. The series, called It Takes Two, would be based on their 2017 memoir of the same name and follow identical twin brothers with different skill sets who join together to strike it big in the real estate business. The script will be written by brothers Jon and Josh Silberman, who previously worked on Living Biblically and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The Property Brothers have built an empire at HGTV, starting with their eponymous renovation show and expanding into numerous spin-offs. Jonathan is the contractor who does the renovating and Drew is the realtor who does the buying and selling. Together, they are the Property Brothers. They have another brother, JD, who is not a Property Brother. There was a sitcom based on the Geico cavemen, and so you know, there's a pretty low bar to clear here.

Property Brothers is available to stream on Hulu.
