The 11th season of American Idol will come to an end Wednesday evening, and according to our poll, there's a clear winner: Phillip Phillips.
The 21-year-old nabbed 69 percent of the nearly 3,000 votes — beating competitor Jessica Sanchez in a landslide.
A little background on the two finalists:
Phillip Phillips is a blue-eyed country boy from Leesburg, Ga., who left his family pawn shop business to pursue his dreams of becoming the next American Idol. He is consistently described by the judges as a "true artist" — he plays the guitar, identifying himself as both a singer and songwriter. Phillips is a heartthrob known for his folk rock sound, and his ability to put a unique spin on any song he performs. Below, watch him sing Damien Rice's "Volcano," which was singled out by the judges as one of his best performances.
