The 11th season of American Idol will come to an end Wednesday evening, and according to our poll, there's a clear winner: Phillip Phillips
The 21-year-old nabbed 69 percent of the nearly 3,000 votes — beating competitor Jessica Sanchez in a landslide.
A little background on the two finalists:
Phillip Phillips is a blue-eyed country boy from Leesburg, Ga., who left his family pawn shop business to pursue his dreams of becoming the next American Idol. Phillips is a heartthrob known for his folk rock sound, and his ability to put a unique spin on any song he performs. Sanchez has dedicated several performances to her father, a U.S. Navy veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and is soon expected to be deployed to Singapore.
