Forget Jennifer Lopez: 61 percent of voters in a TVGuide.com poll say they'd like Paula Abdul back on American Idol.

If Idol followed the voters' wishes, it would be the most surprising shakeup yet for a show that looks to be undergoing several.

Ellen DeGeneres exiting American Idol; Is Jennifer Lopez taking her place?

Several outlets Friday that said next season's judges would likely include Lopez, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, and a returning Randy Jackson. TMZ, meanwhile, reported that Nigel Lythgoe is set to  return as an executive producer.

Fox has declined to comment on all things Idol since announcing Thursday that Ellen DeGeneres will leave after one season as Abdul's replacement. Reports soon after that announcement said Lopez was a lock to replace DeGeneres.

But only 26 percent of TVGuide.com users asked to choose between Lopez, DeGeneres and Abdul said Lopez would be their preferred judge. (She fared better, however, than DeGeneres, the choice of only 13 percent.) Abdul's rep didn't return an e-mail for comment Friday.

Abdul tweeted her resignation nearly a year ago, and has since appeared on Drop Dead Diva and hosted VH1 Divas. She will host and executive produce a dance show for CBS called Got To Dance. No air date has been set.

Simon Cowell has said he would be interested in hiring Abdul for his forthcoming music competition show The X-Factor, set to premiere on Fox in the fall of 2011.
