The verdict is in: Cheryl Kosewicz was found guilty of associating with the wrong people on last week's Pirate Master (Thursdays at 8 pm/ET, on CBS). Though the 35-year-old district attorney was selected as an officer by then-captain Joe Don, her high and mighty ways rubbed the crew the wrong way. When Louie stepped up to the helm, 'twas his mission to get rid of Joe Don or Cheryl. But when Joe Don won a royal pardon, Cheryl was thrown overboard and left adrift in the Caribbean. TVGuide.com caught up with the DA — just out of a real court case — to find out what she thought of the Pirate Court.

TVGuide.com: What's your take on your getting voted out at Pirate Court?
Cheryl Kosewicz:
I think they're all stupid. [Laughs] No, I think that the girls were jealous and the guys were looking for chicks they could manipulate, and I didn't work for either one.

TVGuide.com: The guys seemed to be into the flirty girls.
Cheryl:
And I wasn't that at all. Sometimes I can be, but the position I was put in at the very beginning as an officer... didn't allow me to be that girly girl.

TVGuide.com: Did you know that becoming an officer would put you in such a bad position?
Cheryl:
I had no idea. None. We were just thrown into it in a matter of minutes. It was great at first. I was like, "Yeah, high-five."

TVGuide.com: Right, more money....
Cheryl:
Better quarters. But then we were so separated. And Joe Don, that's how he wanted it. It really hurt me in the beginning.

TVGuide.com: Did you try to use your legal skills to argue your way out of elimination?
Cheryl:
The first time I got a black spot, I absolutely did. I planned it out just like I would do a closing argument. I picked out two points to keep their attention. I went down and sat at their level as opposed to standing up like everybody else did. I used all my legal skills in order to plead my case. The second time around, they pretty much had their minds made up. There wasn't anything I could say. It was either Joe Don or myself.

TVGuide.com: Wasn't Ben just as guilty of the same things as you? He was an officer under Joe Don, too.
Cheryl:
That was my argument to Louie about how stupid his argument was. "Cheryl is up there because she associates with Joe Don," but where is Ben? The thing with Ben, though, is he played it how he should have. He associated more with the crew and didn't necessarily follow captain's orders.

TVGuide.com: Do you regret not bidding for the pardon?
Cheryl:
To this day I think about it: Should I have, shouldn’t I have? If I did bid, I would have won it. But I would have been $8,000 poorer and they would have gotten rid of me next time. There were just so many variables. At the time I kicked my butt for not doing it, but that's the decision I made.

TVGuide.com: What about the "captain going down with the ship" adage? Shouldn't Joe Don have sacrificed himself for you?
Cheryl:
Joe Don went out of his way to help me. The first time, he was up there talking all good things about me. Even when he had the pardon, he was trying to see if he could give it to me... which he couldn't. All in all, it is a game. He's going to do what he has to do to survive.

TVGuide.com: Though you are athletic, were the tough challenges hard for you?
Cheryl:
I had tried out for Survivor before and I'm glad I didn't make it because it would have driven me crazy not to do anything. This was way more up my alley physical-wise. I wish the expeditions had been longer, like days or overnight things where you could really show your physical and mental ability. But they were definitely hard.

TVGuide.com: How was sailing that big ship?
Cheryl:
It is hard and it's not fun. It is small, it stinks downstairs, there is no ventilation, it is hot upstairs, you are with 15 other people that you don't necessarily want to be around but you have to be around.... It was no picnic at all. But just to be out there in the ocean and the Caribbean and the beautiful scenery, you can't even describe it, it is so beautiful.

TVGuide.com: Are you glad that you did this?
Cheryl:
There are things that I would change if I could do it again, but I loved it. I'm glad that I could add this to my experiences.

TVGuide.com: And at least you did get some cash to take home. Cheryl: Absolutely! I've got to pay for those college loans since I had to leave work with no pay to do this.

TVGuide.com: Oh, and I've just got to know: Did Azmyth lose the phony accent when he wasn't captain?
Cheryl:
I believe he did! He was quite a character.
