If Hoffman accepts, he will play the replacement for Seneca Crane (Wes Bentley), the Head Gamemaker who came to an untimely end in the previous film.

Hoffman's offer came on Monday, the same day the actor split with his agency of 18-years, Paradigm.Lionsgate hopes to start filming the anticipated sequel in September. Francis Lawrence will be taking over for original Hunger Gamesdirector Gary Ross.
