The marquee lights on Broadway will be dimmed for one minute Wednesday evening in honor of Philip Seymour Hoffman, who died Sunday at age 46 of an apparent drug overdose.

In addition to being a prolific screen actor, Hoffman was a stage veteran who most recently starred in the 2012 Broadway revival of Death of a Salesman with Andrew Garfield. His other Broadway credits include True West (2000) and Long Day's Journey Into Night (2003). He was nominated for Tony Awards for all three roles.

Hoffman was also was the former Artistic Director of the LAByrinth Theater Company off-Broadway, and directed and starred in a number of productions there.

The marquees will go dark beginning at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.
