The People's Choice Awards have spoken.
Though it's hardly the most respected or glamorous Hollywood award show, the annual event almost always gets it right in rewarding the biggest hitters in TV, movies and music. Topping this year's list of nominees are stars like Britney Spears, Carrie Underwood, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, summer blockbusters The Dark Knightand Iron Man, and TV shows House, Two and a Half Menand CSI.
Fringe's Joshua Jackson and Dancing with the Stars' Carrie Ann Inaba were among the celebs who announced the nominations Monday. The awards will be handed out on Jan. 7 at a ceremony again hosted by Queen Latifah.
In addition to scoring a Favorite Movie nomination, The Dark Knight (now closing in on the $1 billion mark in worldwide box office returns) and its cast earned nods for Favorite Cast, Favorite Male Actor (Christian Bale), Favorite On-Screen Matchup (Bale and the late Heath Ledger) and Favorite Superhero, a new category introduced this year. Other new categories include Favorite TV Drama Diva and Favorite Scene-Stealing Guest Star.
You can find (and vote for) the full list of nominees at the People's Choice Awards Web site until Dec. 7. How do you think "the people" will respond?
