Has PBS found its next Downton Abbey? The net has officially cast its upcoming Civil War drama Mercy Street.

How I Met Your Mother star Josh Radnor and The Returned's Mary Elizabeth Winstead will lead the star-studded cast. The six-part series follows the lives of two volunteer nurses on opposing sides of the Civil War, New England abolitionist Mary Phinney (Winstead) and Confederate supporter Emma Green (newcomer Hanna James).

Radnor will play Jedediah Foster, a civilian contract surgeon from a Southern slave-owning background.
