Paula Deen Thanks Food Network After Getting Fired

Paula Deen has a few works for the Food Network after being fired: thank you.

In a statement obtained by People, Deen said: "I have had the pleasure of being allowed into so many homes across the country and meeting people who have shared with me the most touching and personal stories. This would not have been possible without the Food Network. Thank you again. Love and best dishes to all of ya'll."

Charting celebrity scandal over the years

On Friday, the network announced that it would not renew Deen's contract when it expires later this month. The decision came days after a deposition leaked in which Deen admitted to using the N-word several times and requesting that black waiters play slaves at a Plantation-themed wedding. Shortly before getting fired, Deen released two videotaped apologies, the first of which was bizarrely edited and has since been removed.

Food Network's decision will not affect the two shows starring Deen's children, Not My Mama's Mealswith Bobby Deen on the Cooking Channel and Home for Dinnerwith Jamie Deen on Food Network.

Deen had appeared on the Food Network since 2002 and hosted two shows, Paula's Home Cooking and Paula's Best Dishes.
