Ryan Murphy sure has a thing for singers.

The Gleeand American Horror Story co-creator has tapped legendary diva Patti LaBelle for a four-episode arc on AHS: Freak Show, TVLine.com reports.

LaBelle will play the mother of Gabourey Sidibe's character and a local townsperson who begins to discover the murderous secrets of Twisty the clown killer. Season 4 of AHS will focus on the last freak show in America circa 1952.

In addition to returning stars Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters and Frances Conroy, Michael Chiklis, Wes Bentley and John Carroll Lynch will make their debuts.

LaBelle's acting credits include A Different World, The Nanny, Cosby and most recently, 2011's Mama, I Want to Sing!
