"There are things on the show that, in a million years, I never thought I would show on camera," Paris Hilton told reporters Friday at NBC's Summer Press Day. "I put my producer hat on and thought this is great TV."
But what does Hilton think viewers will be most surprised to see on her new series? "How down to earth and sweet I am," she said.

Hilton is no stranger to reality TV. First, she spent five seasons with pal Nicole Richie exploring suburban American on The Simple Life and then two seasons on MTV looking for her new B.F.F. But this time the 30-year-old heiress is logging in hours behind the camera as the creator and executive producer of The World According to Paris. The series will follow Hilton's everyday life and her relationships with her mom, Kathy Hilton, and her close group of friends, including Charlie Sheen's soon-to-be-ex wife, Brooke Mueller.
Series executive producer Arthur Smith said he was surprised about how much Hilton wanted to show when she first approached about him about the project. "She always looked at it from, 'This is very hard for me to show, but I know that we have to,'" he said. "The producer always won, which made me very happy."

Kathy Hilton said the show was been "good therapy," despite, or because of, the challenges along the way. "[You think] 'I cannot believe I did this or said that,' but you just have to say forget it," she said. "Once it's on film, that's it."
Despite her many years in front of the camera, Hilton says she's grown up a lot since fans last saw her on the small screen. "I wasn't ready," she said. "I've been through so much and I feel like I have nothing to hide. What else could happen?"
The World According to Paris premieres June 1 at 10/9c on Oxygen.
