Dax Shepard may be best known for playing pranks on the rich and famous on Punk'd, but don't call the 35-year-old comic, or his latest character, a slacker. "For the record, I have a job," Shepard says. "My definition of a slacker is usually unemployed."

Shephard's latest job is showing his range in the new drama series Parenthood, which premieres Tuesday at 10/9c on NBC. Shepard talked with Young Hollywood about his "unconventional" character, behind-the-scenes pedigree and on-set energy.
