Owen Wilson: Hospitalization Puts New Films in Limbo

Owen Wilson's emergency hospitalization has raised questions about his upcoming releases and unfilmed projects. For starters, Wes Anderson's The Darjeeling Limited is set to open Sept. 28, and now must proceed with PR sans one of its leads. DreamWorks, meanwhile, tells Variety that filming on Tropic Thunder, due for a summer 2008 release, "continues," but would not say whether Wilson's role will be recast. Next up for Wilson was Marley & Me, also starring Jennifer Aniston and starting production in January. A Fox rep tells the trade that speculating on Wilson's status is "a totally inappropriate question at this time, when all of our thoughts and concerns are with his health and well-being."On Monday, Wilson released a statement saying, "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."
