First Outlander Season 5 Pic Is Here to Satisfy Your Thirst for Romance

Following the romantic drought that fans experienced in Outlander's fourth season, the Starz show is kicking off promotion for Season 5 on a lovey-dovey note.

The network has shared a first glimpse at the currently in-production fifth season, with Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) sharing a sweet smile as they enjoy -- and blend in with -- the greenery of their new home in the New World.

Season 5 is an adaptation of book five in Diana Gabaldon's series, titled The Fiery Cross. The story is set in 1771, just before the American Revolution, as the Frasers prepare themselves for the impossible choices ahead. Despite the looming matter of the fiery cross, though, fans can expect things to heat up between Claire and Jamie this season.

As executive producer Maril Davis told TV Guide, "I do anticipate a return, hopefully, to that [intimacy] next season."

Outlander Seasons 1 through 4 are currently available for streaming at Starz. In addition to the coming fifth season, Outlander has also been renewed for Season 6.
