Jimmy Kimmel will host the 89th Academy Awards next February, Variety reports.

This won't be the first time the late night star has hosted a major award shows. Kimmel has previously hosted the Emmys in 2016 and 2012, as well as the 2007 ESPYs and the American Music Awards on five separate occasions. However, this will be his first time hosting the Oscars.

Although Kimmel received good reviews for his most recent Emmys hosting gig in September, the ceremony's ratings fell to an all-time low of 11.3 million viewers. In comparison, last year's Oscar broadcast, which was hosted by Chris Rock, earned 34.3 million viewers — triple the recent Emmys audience, but still an 11-year low for the Academy Awards.

The 89th Oscars will be produced by Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd for ABC, which also airs Kimmel's talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live. The ceremony will air live on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017.
