Watch the Trailer for Hillbilly Noir Murder Mystery One Dollar

The series is coming to CBS All Access later this month

Liam Mathews

One Dollar, a Rust Belt murder mystery with an ensemble that includes The Walking Dead and American Horror Story's John Carroll Lynch, Billions' Christopher Denham and Ally McBeal's Greg Germann, now has a trailer! CBS All Access dropped the first extended look at the series on Monday, and the show looks like a fine example of "hillbilly noir," in which rural economic anxiety drives regular people to desperate acts.

The series changes point of view from episode to episode as it tracks the movement of a single dollar bill that moves between several people who are connected to a shocking multiple murder at the local mill. The town's deep class and cultural divides are exposed as the investigation continues and long-buried secrets are brought to light. There's a certain "The Wire Season 2 minus Ziggy Sobotka" feel.

All 10 episodes of the first season are directed by The Leftovers and Westworld director Craig Zobel.

One Dollar premieres Thursday, Aug. 30 on CBS All Access. New episodes are released on Thursdays.

(Full disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS.)
