Who will he help?
Once Upon a Time is adding a new face for Season 6, but he won't be from the Land of Untold Stories.
Entertainment Weekly reports that 24: Live Another Day alum Giles Matthey will be joining the fairy-tale epic as Morpheus, the Greek God of Dreams.
The show delved very deeply into Greek mythology at the end of the last season, when the core heroes were stuck in the Underworld with Hades (Greg Germann). According to EW, Matthey, who has also appeared on True Blood, will help characters navigate their dreams.
How Once Upon a Time turned the Evil Queen into its most important hero
If you remember, Belle (Emilie de Ravin) was left in a dream slumber until Rumple (Robert Carlyle) could find a way to save her and their baby from Hades. Morpheus will interact with both of the characters, which could make him key in either waking Belle up or being able to repair the star-crossed couple's relationship.
Showrunners Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz announced at the ATX Festival in June that Season 6 would have a different format than the last few years. The show is returning its Season 1 format with a throughline story that's explored through several smaller character arcs, rather than two epic adventures broken into half seasons.
Do you think that Morpheus will be a villain or hero in Belle and Rumple's story?
Season 6 of Once Upon a Time premieres Sept. 25 at 8/7c on ABC.
