The series finale of Once Upon a Time is gonna be one fantastic sendoff!
"Seven years after we set off on this magical journey, we prepare to say goodbye to the cast, crew and writers that made the 'happily ever after' that is Once Upon a Time possible," said creators and executive producers Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz in a statement. "We couldn't think of a more fitting way to say farewell than by reuniting so many of the characters that our fiercely loyal fans spent years with on their adventures. We hope everyone joins our Once family, old and new, for what we hope will be the sendoff of a lifetime befitting this stellar cast and its incomparable fans."
Horowitz and Kitsis have also promised we'll return to Storybrooke before the year is out, which is likely how we'll return to Emma, Snow and Charming's story this year. Given Jared's involvement though, it could be in a flashback.
The one return that's slightly worrying is that of Emilie de Ravin as Belle. Given that she passed away after a long and happy life with Rumple (Robert Carlyle), she's most likely to return as a ghost of some sort. Rumple has been on a quest to rid himself of the Dark One's power all year so he can reunite with his true love in the afterlife, and Belle's return in the series finale may hint he'll actually achieve that goal.
Once Upon a Time airs Fridays at 8/7c on ABC.
