Upon returning this fall, ABC's October Road (Mondays, 10 pm/ET) has stepped it up a notch by throwing an engagement into the mix. But will Hannah really marry Big Cat? TVGuide.com caught up with Laura Prepon, who plays the bride-to-be, so we could get the details on her pending nuptials, one very big secret and the rest of the season.
TVGuide.com: How are you? Excited that the show's back on?
I'm f--ckin' awesome. Yeah, it's really cool.
TVGuide.com: So with the strike going on, how many episodes have you shot?
We're on Episode 12 right now. We're gonna shoot 13 because the writers actually finished the 13-episode order, which is pretty crazy. They literally locked themselves in the writers' room and wrote for days and the network approved the scripts and they're really good. I think people work better under a lot of pressure. Yeah, so we're filming until Jan. 11.
TVGuide.com: Have you been out on the picket lines at all?
No, I mean, of course we support the writers and everything they're fighting for, but on the flip side, I'm so happy that our crew is going to be employed through Christmas. I know how it's really affecting all these families and actors, too. A lot of my friends who make a living off of [being] guest stars on different shows… it's affecting so many people. It just sucks.
TVGuide.com: So, Hannah's engaged to Big Cat, Nick's supposedly "happy for you," and nothing's set in stone.
Yeah, supposedly. It's so funny, after last week's episode, I got all these calls like, "Are you actually going to marry him?" Because ultimately everyone wants to see Nick and Hannah together, except for my mom. My mother loves Big Cat. She's like, "You don't need to be with Nick!" It's probably his hair. It's so funny.
TVGuide.com: Will we see a wedding? What can you tease?
There is stuff involving a wedding. We have the big engagement party, so it's moving forward like they're going to get married. The last episode is the engagement party.
TVGuide.com: I guess bringing Hannah and Nick together too soon would be boring, right?
Yeah, it's like, will they or won't they. And there's also what happens when they do get together and dealing with all the stuff that happens after they're together, because anybody can relate to that, how to make relationships work.
TVGuide.com: Is Eddie Sam's dad or what? Was that revealed? I feel like I missed it.
It wasn't revealed, no.
TVGuide.com: There is a secret between Eddie and Hannah, though.
There is a secret between Eddie and Hannah, yeah.
TVGuide.com: Will that come out before the end of the season?
TVGuide.com: Will Best Friend Windows go to hell? Will their friendship die again?
You know, let's just say it has the potential to go very wrong. A lot of really great stuff happens.
TVGuide.com: I love the Eddie-Janet storyline.
Isn't that amazing?
TVGuide.com: The whole buying-him-a-wolf thing was hilarious.
I know, it's so awesome. You know Rebecca [Field] and Jeff [Stults] are so awesome.
TVGuide.com: Will that relationship hang on for a while?
It's gonna go on for a little bit. They will have trouble, because ultimately Janet's insecurities will come into play, which is really unfortunate, but that will come into play in a big way.
TVGuide.com: Doing anything special for the holidays?
Well, I went home to Jersey for Thanksgiving, which was awesome, so my family's actually coming out to L.A. for Christmas. Apparently it's snowing [in Jersey], so they'll be able to come out here. It'll be warmer.
TVGuide.com: Well, good luck with the rest of the season. There's not much airing!
I know, hopefully we'll do better than "I Married My Mom's Cousin's Boyfriend." [Laughs] I heard about some of the reality shows that are coming out, and it's scary. Manhattan wives, following Pamela Anderson around partying in Las Vegas, it's getting crazy, but this is the repercussion.
