Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden is heading to The Newsroom to replace Rosemarie DeWitt, Entertainment Weekly reports.

DeWitt left the HBO drama last week after shooting a handful of episodes. HBO said DeWitt's early departure was because of scheduling conflicts. In her place, Harden steps into the recurring role of Rebecca Halliday, a litigator who defends News Night's network in a wrongful termination lawsuit. DeWitt's completed scenes will be reshot with Harden.

Rosemarie DeWitt exits The Newsroom

The role marks a reunion for Harden and Newsroom star Jeff Daniels, who shared the stage in the 2009 Broadway play God of Carnage. Harden won a Tony award for her performance.

Harden has recurred on Royal Pains, Damages and Law & Order: SVU, for which she'll reprise her role as FBI Agent Dana Lewis in the Feb. 6 episode of the NBC drama.

The Newsroom is set to return some time this summer. Are you excited to see Harden on The Newsroom?
