Thank god, it's... the DVD. A new Fletch: The Jane Doe Edition DVD slated for release on May 1 boasts a digitally remastered picture and includes the new featurettes "Just Charge It to the Underhills: Making and Remembering Fletch," "From John Cocktoaston to Harry S. Truman: The Disguises," and a compilation of favorite Fletch moments. (I was only kidding about the sandwiches and ball bearings, though it is all ball bearings these days.) I don't usually single out DVD releases in their own news item, but this is one of the funniest, most quotable films of all time, and exceptions will be made. Now does anyone have a towel?
