Doctor Who is about to debut an unprecedented shakeup when the series returns later this year. As you probably already know, the show is not only getting a new showrunner as Steven Moffat steps down, but it's also getting a franchise first female Doctor!

Today, the BBC released a new logo to reflect that change, and it's pretty much setting the Internet on fire. Whovians everywhere are debating not just the pros and cons of having a female Doctor, but also whether the logo itself does justice to the momentous shift the show is making.

Despite what the naysayers say, this logo actually seems like a perfect portrayal of what's to come. Rather than an action-packed poster with Jodie Whittaker front and center, we've been treated to a mysterious and oddly serene logo that totally fits the bill. The new Doctor headed our way — and how she'll change the universe — is a mystery all of us are dying to solve, and to say this waiting period feels like the calm before the storm is kind of an understatement.
