These are heady times for fans of the true crime genre - which is weird to say, because does that mean you're a fan of murder? Anyway, Serial's back, random people on the internet are solving cold cases, and Netflix's true crime documentary Making a Murderer has a new trailer, and it looks fascinating.
Making a Murderer investigates the curious case of Steven Avery, a Wisconsin man who served 18 years in prison for a rape he didn't commit, and was charged with murder two years after he got out. He's been serving a life sentence since 2007 and unable to pursue his civil case against the county from his wrongful conviction. (To get caught up on the Avery case before the show premieres, listen to this incredible episode of the public radio show Radiolab about Penny Beernsten, the woman Avery was accused of raping.)
The 10-episode documentary premieres December 18 on Netflix.
