Charlie Cox has been tapped to star in Netflix's Daredevil adaptation from Marvel, a source confirms to TVGuide.com.
The Boardwalk Empirealum, who played Owen Sleater on the HBO drama, will portray Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer-turned-crime-fighter in the drama. Marvel declined to comment on his casting, and Netflix didn't immediately respond to TVGuide.com's request for comment.
The casting was first reported by Latino Review. Daredevil was previously brought to life by Ben Affleck in the 2003 titular film. (Watch the movie now.)
Shooting on Daredevil is set to begin in July and the 13-episode first season is slated to debut sometime next year. Spartacus creator Steven S. DeKnight was recently named the series' showrunner.
