Her alleged assailant will stand trial
The homeless man who allegedly attacked NCISstar Pauley Perrette last month was ordered Wednesday to stand trial for the incident, the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
David Merck, 45, is not allowed to have any contact with Perrette, who tearfully recounted the attack in court and identified Merck as her assailant. She claims that he grabbed her arm, hit her in the face and threatened multiple times to kill her. "He was so much stronger than me," Perrette, 46, recalled, according to the Daily News. "I couldn't run. I couldn't fight."
Afterwards, Perrette tweeted about the attack, which occurred near her Hollywood home.
So, tonight was awful, life changing and I'm only grateful to be alive. It's here: pic.twitter.com/vXIT1pkVRc
Merck is charged with false imprisonment by violence and making a criminal threat, and is being held on $60,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 16 and faces up to four years in prison if convicted.
