The post-Perrette era of NCIS is truly upon us.

TVLine reports that Diona Reasonover, who plays Kasie Hines, the forensic scientist who started working in the lab after Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) left last season, has been promoted to series regular for Season 16 of the CBS procedural.

Reasonover made her debut in the Season 15 episode "One Man's Trash," working alongside Abby, and then guest starred in the two final episodes of the season after Perrette's exit. She started as Ducky's (David McCallum) graduate assistant, and then was brought in to fill the vacancy left by Abby. It seems like she's been hired full-time. Big shoes to fill.

Reasonover has acted on shows including 2 Broke Girls, Grace and Frankie and Superstore and written for I Love Dick and Adam Ruins Everything.

NCIS Season 16 premieres Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 8/7c on CBS.

(Full disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS.)
