Although NBC's option on the show was supposed to expire today, the show's head honcho, Mark Burnett, being good pals with the net's new head honcho Ben Silverman, put him on the horn with Ivanka's dad. "Ben really made Donald feel comfortable and wanted," a source tells Variety. So he extended the option until June 8. Which still seems pointless to me. Unless they're gonna get Rosie O'Donnell to be the newest Carolyn, keeping the past-its-prime series around is just, well, bad business.
