NBC Renews The Office, Parks and Recreation, Up All Night and Whitney

NBC has renewed The Office, Parks and Recreation, Whitney and Up All Night, TVGuide.com has confirmed. The Office will enter its ninth season. As of Thursday, NBC was working on a deal to sign John Krasinski, Ed Helms and Jenna Fischer to return. A contract has not yet been worked out for star/writer/executive producer B.J. Novak. The Office's Season 8 finale on Thursday drew 4.4 million viewers and a 2.2 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic — its lowest-rated season finale ever.

Fall 2012 TV scorecard: Which shows are returning? Which aren't?

Parks and Rec, which starsAmy Poehler, will return for a 22-episode fifth season. Its Season 4 finale earned 3.4 million viewers and a 1.7 rating on Thursday.

Up All Night, starring Christina Applegate and Poehler's husband Will Arnett, and Whitney, starring Whitney Cummings, will both be back for a second season. Up All Night wrapped its freshman run last month to 3.12 million viewers and a 1.5 rating, while Whitney wrapped in March to 4.1 million viewers and a 1.5 rating.
