NBC picks up new J.J. Abrams drama series

Starring Jason Ritter (The Class), The Event is a conspiracy thriller that follows Ritter's character as he investigates the disappearance of his fiancée (Disturbia's Sarah Roemer), only to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history. Created by Nick Wauters (The 4400, Eureka) and executive produced by Steve Stark (Medium), the show also stars Blair Underwood as a newly elected president, Laura Innes (ER), Scott Patterson (Gilmore Girls), and Zeljko Ivanek (Damages, Heroes).Outsourced is a comedy from Robert Borden (The Drew Carey Show, George Lopez) and Ken Kwapis (The Office) that stars Ben Rappaport as Todd Dempsey, the manager of a American novelties company with a call center that is moved to India. Todd is transferred to run the operation, which employs Rizwan Manji (Privileged), Sacha Dhawan (BBC's Five Days II), and Rebecca Hazlewood (BBC's Doctors).Love Bites is an hourlong romantic comedy anthology series from Emmy-winning writer producer Cindy Chupack (Sex and the City). The series explores stories of love, sex, marriage and dating through multiple vignettes, though the show is anchored by Annie (Ugly Betty's Becki Newton) and Frannie (My Boys' Jordana Spiro), two single women whose friends have settled down. Each episode will feature a rotating cast of guest stars, but the pilot's cast includes Jennifer Love Hewitt (Ghost Whisperer), Greg Grunberg (Heroes), Craig Robinson (The Office), Jason Lewis (Sex and the City), and Lindsay Price (Lipstick Jungle).
