NBC in Bed With Inception-Style Pilot

NBC picked up four additional pilots Thursday, including three comedies and an Inception-style thriller that explores dual realities. REM, a twist on the typical crime procedural, centers on a police detective who's involved in a traumatic car accident and then wakes up in two fractured realities. The project follows his simultaneous and parallel lives with his broken family. As the title suggests, the Rapid Eye Movement sleeping state may have something to do with the cop's split perceptions. Warner Bros.' Oscar-nominated film Inception played with the idea of manipulating and controlling one's dream state.

REM is from Kyle Killen, creator of Fox's short-lived Lone Star, which was also about a man who lived two lives albeit in reality with two separate families.

NBC orders Grimm cop drama

Based on a UK series, Free Agents is a single-camera romantic comedy set in a talent agency in which two rebounding colleagues — one who just lost a fiancé, the other a recent divorcé -- are attracted to each other. John Enbom, Todd Holland, Karey Burke and Kenton Allen will executive produce.

Lovelives comes from Family Guy writer-executive producer Chris Sheridan, Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope. It's a multi-camera comedy following two sets of couples as they navigate through love and infidelity.

NBC Orders Comedy Pilots From Chelsea Handler, Whitney Cummings

The untitled medical comedy from Parks and Recreation writer Dan Goor revolves around a young doctor who must juggle his family and his patients' needs when he joins his parents' medical practice. Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun will also executive produce.

Do any of these pilots sound promising?
