NBC Hopes for Funny Business with Mogulettes

NBC is looking to do big business — or at least portray it — in the new half-hour comedy series on the network's development slate. According toVariety, Mogulettes comes from the brain of Bergdorf Blondes author Plum Sykes. The series will focus on Eva, the leader of a cosmetics empire and a group of highly successful, twentysomething jet-setters. Sykes will pen the script with Amy Harris (The Comeback). The series marks the second project from Charlie Corwin's Original Media, which has a first-look deal at NBC Entertainment, to be developed by the network. Sykes has also written The Debutante Divorcee and previously developed a version of Bergdorf Blondes for the WB network that was eventually passed over. — Adam Bryant
