Dogged by lackluster critical reviews and a stunted 13 episodes in its second season, Mysteries of Laura still performed relatively well--even seeing increases in both DVR playback and total viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. While the future for Messing, a darling of the network, and her co-stars is unclear, this cancellation certainly won't slow down Berlanti. The producer has six shows on the slate for the season including Riverdale, a new take on Archie comics airing on the CW.
