Break out the Windex! The producers behind My Big Fat Greek Wedding have announced that a sequel to the 2002 hit romantic comedy is in the works, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Nia Vardalos, who starred in and wrote the first film, has penned the script for the sequel as well. She will reprise her role as Greek-American gal Toula, and John Corbett is attached to reprise his role as her non-Greek boyfriend-turned-husband, Ian. Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and Gary Goetzman will return as producers. Paul Brooks, Scott Niemeyer, Norm Waitt and Steve Shareshian will executive-produce along with Vardalos.

"Now that I'm experiencing motherhood, I'm ready to write the next chapter of my family story," Vardalos said in a statement. "Of course a few jaded folks in the press corps will claim I ran out of money or just want to kiss John Corbett again. One of these things is true."

The plot of the new movie involves the reveal of a family secret and a new bigger and fatter Greek wedding that brings the family together again.

TV stars at the movies

My Big Fat Greek Wedding ended with Toula and Ian's six-year-old daughter beginning Greek school. (Watch the film here.) However, the TV adaptation that followed on CBS (and was quickly canceled) followed Talia and Thomas (this time played by Steven Eckholdt) shortly after their nuptials.

Since the film, which earned her an Oscar nomination for best original screenplay, Vardalos has starred in films such as My Life in Ruins and For a Good Time Call.... She currently recurs on Law & Order: SVU.
