Chicago Fire will have to move forward without its resident badass, Gabby Dawson. Monica Raymund confirmed Tuesday that she's leaving the show after six seasons.

"It has been an honor to play Dawson on Chicago Fire and one of the most meaningful experiences of my life," she wrote in a heartfelt note on Twitter. "I am so thankful for the journey and especially to all of you for watching, but I have made the decision that it's time for me to move on to the next chapter in my life. I'll always be proud to have played a fierce paramedic with such an incredible cast and crew. On to the next!"

Chicago Fire's Taylor Kinney Teases Stellaride's Future

Raymond starred on the series for six seasons as the fierce paramedic who trained to become a firefighter before moving back to the ambulance in order to remain in the same firehouse as her eventual husband, Casey (Jesse Spencer). Her exit was teased in the Season 6 finale after walking out on her spouse following a heated argument about trying for adoption again. The episode ended with Dawson contemplating heading to Puerto Rico to provide aid for the victims of Hurricane Maria. With Raymund officially out, it means that Dawsey -- one of the show's biggest 'ships -- is no more. Mourn accordingly.

Rumors of her departure began last week when she hadn't yet signed a deal to renew her contract through Season 7 after Jesse Spencer and Taylor Kinney had already inked one-year deals. Meanwhile, Eamonn Walker just signed on for the upcoming season and David Eigenberg is expected to follow suit. Miranda Rae Mayo, Joe Minoso and Yuri Sardarov are also expected to return next season.

Earlier this year, the Fire family lost DuShon Monique Brown who passed away from natural causes back in March. She played Boden's spitfire assistant Connie on the series. Per showrunner Derek Haas, the show will address Brown's death in Season 7.
