Momoa's New 'Do Is a Don't, Says Stargate

His character, Ronon, still has his massive mane, but Jason Momoa, who plays the studly warrior on Stargate Atlantis, has shed his dreads — all five pounds of them. "After six-plus years, my head and neck were starting to hurt a lot," says Momoa, adding that all the hair kept him from wearing a bike helmet and keeping his balance while surfing. Execs at the Sci Fi Channel "didn’t want me to cut 'em," so now the actor has to wear a wig of dreads on screen. But, he adds, "The wig weighs more than my own hair, which sucks.
