Exclusive Mom Sneak Peek: Beverly D'Angelo Interrupts Alvin and Bonnie's Date - In Lingerie!

Beverly D'Angelo isn't afraid to show a little skin on Thursday's episode of Mom, in which she guest-stars as Lorraine, the brash ex-wife of Alvin (Kevin Pollak).

When Alvin and Bonnie (Allison Janney) plan a romantic evening in his new apartment, Lorraine shows up unexpectedly - in lingerie - to throw a not-so-subtle wrench into her former husband's plans. (The episode is titled "Godzilla and a Sprig of Mint," with the first part referring to Lorraine.)

"In honor of all bitter and angry ex-wives everywhere, Lorraine represents," D'Angelo tells TVGuide.com. "She's pretty secure in just Godzilla-ing through life. As a mother of two 13-year-olds, it's a great role. ... It's fabulous to play a really selfish creature."

And, as far as the costume choice was concerned, D'Angelo says she was happy to roll with the punches. "How great is it that they would even think about having women at this age in lingerie?" she notes. "And I just thought, I'm down for this. I'm totally willing to show the flaws, whatever, because I'm good with it."

Whether Alvin and Bonnie will be able to overcome this latest hurdle in their relationship remains to be seen, but D'Angelo hints that Lorraine will likely appear in future episodes as well.

"In the piece, she's an antagonist. But in her life, she's a protagonist," D'Angelo says. "She's who you wish you could be sometimes. ... If [viewers] don't like her, let's just hope they love to hate her."
