Mark-Paul Gosselaar will be returning to TV screens this fall after all. Although his series The Passagewas canceled after one season on Fox, the actor will be joining mixed-ish on ABC.

Gosselaar will replace Anders Holm as Bow's (Arica Himmel) dad in the black-ish spin-off. Holm was let go in May, shortly after the show was picked up to series, according to TVLine. Mixed-ish will explore Bow's (played by Tracee Ellis Ross on the flagship series) adolescent years, growing up as a bi-racial kid raised in a hippie commune before having to go to public school.

While we would never say no to having Gosselaar's face on our screens, this casting news does officially deplete all hope of the rumored Pitch revival. The short-lived baseball drama was beloved among fans and its cast before it was canceled two years ago. With Goselaar joining the ABC family, it makes it seem much more unlikely that we'll ever see if the sparks between Goselaar's Mike Lawson and Ginny (Kylie Bunbury) were real.

Mixed-ish premieres this fall on ABC.
