Marvel's Luke Cage will land on Netflix on Friday, September 30, according to Indiewire.

The star of the series, Mike Colter, revealed the date during a red carpet interview at Daredevil's Season 2 premiere in New York City. "It's going to be action-packed from beginning to the very end," Colter told Indiewire.

Luke Cage is the next step in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's buildup to The Defenders. The series centering on the "unbreakable" hero is the third to debut on Netflix in a six-month interval, following Daredevil's freshman season last spring, Jessica Jones in the fall and now the Daredevil follow-up.

It remains to be seen whether Netflix and Marvel will follow Luke Cage with Iron Fist and go straight into The Defenders or supplant Jones' announced second season in between them.
