Here's What the Sue Heck The Middle Spin-Off Is About

We've known about the potential The Middle spin-off starring Eden Sher's Sue Heck for some time, but now we finally know what Sue will be doing. And our guess is getting eaten alive.

The comedy will follow Sue as she moves away from Indiana and into Chicago, where she will experience adulthood and go job hunting. The innocent and optimistic Sue will be in for a surprise, as Chicago is a far cry from her hometown of Orson, Indiana.

The news comes as ABC is moving forward with the further adventures of Sue and has placed a pilot production commitment -- a fancy way of saying that a pilot will be ordered or ABC will have to pay out the wazoo, and almost certainly guarantees a pilot will be made -- for the project. Given the timing of things, the spin-off wouldn't be ready in time for the fall season and would be more suited for midseason.

Also a possibility is a move to Freeform, which would follow in the steps of what ABC did with black-ish spin-off grown-ish, where Yara Shahidi's character Zoey moves away and goes to college.
