Executive producer Jason Katims has brought back his charismatic Friday Night Lights veteran for Season 3 of NBC's drama as Alex, the recovering-alcoholic boyfriend of high-schooler Haddie Braverman (Sarah Ramos). With the revelation he has a criminal record, Alex promises to become a more complicated character, and Jordan deserves all the airtime he can get.

His wasn't the only welcome return: The Event survivor Jason Ritter also resurfaced as Mark Cyr, the teacher who's got the hots for Sarah (Lauren Graham). With such a strong pair of actors back in the fold, Parenthood looks to have a fruitful season ahead.
