The Billboard Music Awards made history Sunday with a hologram of Michael Jackson performing a song from his posthumous album Xscape.
The faux King of Pop started the number seated on a throne before dancing and, of course, moonwalking to "Slave to the Rhythm."
But the performance didn't come without controversy. A last-minute lawsuit threatened the stunt when Alki David, who claims to control the rights to the hologram technology, filed a suit against Jackson's estate and Dick Clark Productions to stop them from using his technology since he has his own high-profile MJ performance planned. In the end, the performance went on.
