Michael Clarke Duncan has joined Fox's upcoming Bones spin-off pilot, TVLine reports.

The 53-year-old actor will co-star in Episode 19 of the Fox crime procedural, which will likely serve as a planted spin-off for the new project.

Is a Bones spinoff in the works?

Based on The Locator books by Richard Greener, the Bones spin-off follows Walter Sherman (aka "the Locator"), a former military policeman who can find anything. Duncan will play Walter's partner, Leo, a tough cowboy philosopher. The lead role of Walter is still being cast.

This is the first regular TV role for Duncan, who is best known for his Academy Award-nominated performance in The Green Mile. He will next appear in the James Franco comedy Your Highness, out April 8.
