Mel Gibson Rants Might Not Be Used in Custody Case

The lawyer for Mel Gibson's ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva revealed Thursday that Gibson's much-circulated, slur-filled rants may not be used in the ongoing child custody dispute, The Associated Press reports.

Gibson's attorney, Stephen Kolodny, previously had complained about the lack of access to Grigorieva's laptop, which he attempted to gain to learn more about the rant recordings.

This announcement comes after word that Grigorieva was dropping claims that Gibson physically abused her and no longer seeking a restraining order against the actor. Grigorieva's attorney, Daniel Horowitz, noted that the recordings were most pertinent to this now-dropped part of the case.

The case is expected back in court June 23. The judge says that the remaining issues are child support and the custody arrangement.
