There will be a new face in the squad room for the final five episodes of Major Crimes' fourth season.

Fargo and Better Call Saul standout Julie Ann Emery will guest-star on the TNT drama's upcoming serialized string of episodes, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. She will play Detective Stephanie Dunn, a hard-nosed narcotics investigator who is asked to transfer to Major Crimes and aid in the search for a murderer who may be connected to the killing of an off-duty cop from 12 years earlier.

But that's where things get tricky. Not only did Dunn -- as part of a team including Lt. Tao (Michael Paul Chan) and his estranged partner Mark Hickman (guest star Jason Gedrick) -- investigate the original murder, but she also has a personal stake: During the trial, the prosecuting district attorney was also murdered alongside her bodyguard, Dunn's husband.

Catch up on all this week's Mega Buzz

"Shattered, Stephanie drank for a month, then transferred out of homicide to narcotics investigations, but, like Sanchez [Raymond Cruz], she never got over the death of her spouse," executive producer James Duff tells TVGuide.com. "Coaxed back into Major Crimes... Steph finds herself forced to relive the death of her husband while entertaining the possibility of joining Captain Raydor [Mary McDonnell] and her team as a full time member of her division."
Even though she certainly seems comfortable in the long-empty desk of Sgt. Gabriel, will Stephanie stick around? Find out when Major Crimes returns Monday, Feb. 15 at 9/8c on TNT.
