Well, that didn't take long!

Mayans M.C. is ready to roll for Season 2 -- and it's not even done with Season 1 yet!

FX announced Monday that it has renewed theSons of Anarchy spin-off for another season after just four episodes. That's a pretty quick renewal, even by cable standards. But considering Mayans M.C. came out the gate with strong ratings that it's managed to retain pretty well, it was probably an easy choice for the network.

Most would attribute that success to the pre-existing fanbase for Sons of Anarchy showing up to check out this post-Jax (Charlie Hunnam) world, but series creator Kurt Sutter begs to differ. "The Mayans M.C. mythology sprung from the womb of Sons of Anarchy, but anyone who has taken the time to watch, knows it has become its own mythical creature," Sutter said in a statement.

Mayans M.C. follows the story of Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes (JD Pardo), who is fresh out of prison and struggling with his new identity now that he's no long the town's golden boy. Oh yeah, and he's actually a DEA informant trying to take down a cartel run by his high school sweetheart's husband.

Mayans M.C. airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on FX. The second season of Mayans M.C. will premiere on FX in 2019.
