Matt Bomer Reveals He's Been Married for Three Years

In a new interview with Detailsmagazine, Matt Bomer reveals that he's been married for three years.

Bomer, who will next star in Ryan Murphy's upcoming HBO movie The Normal Heart, confirmed that he and partner Simon Halls wed in 2011, a year before the actor publicly came out during a February 2012 acceptance speech at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards. The White Collarstar and Hall, a Hollywood publicist, have three children: Kit, Walker and Henry.

The Normal Heart, which focuses on the rise of the HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City in the early '80s, was written by LGBT rights activist Larry Kramer. "On some level, Larry probably saved my life," Bomer told the magazine about Kramer's influence. "He happened to be on set the day DOMA was overturned. In many ways, he's responsible for DOMA being overturned in the first place. He's an Abraham Lincoln figure—he has affected the cultural landscape of this country, and not always popularly."

The Normal Heart premieres on Sunday, May 25 at 9/8c on HBO.
