Netflix Sets Premiere Date for Marvel's Jessica Jones

Marvel's Jessica Jones will arrive on Netflix just in time for Thanksgiving.

The original series, based on the comic books, will premiere in all territories where Netflix is available on Friday, Nov. 20 at 12:01 a.m. PT. Its first season will consist of 13 one-hour episodes.

Netflix announced the release date with a short teaser which included the tagline, "It's time the world knew her name."

Jessica Jones follows the title character (Krysten Ritter) who is trying to rebuild her personal life and professional life as a detective in New York City, after her brief stint as a superhero ends tragically. David Tennant, Rachael Taylor and Carrie-Anne Moss also star.

The series is part of a four-series deal between Marvel and Netflix, and follows Daredevil, which premiered in April. Also in the works are Marvel's Luke Cage and Marvel's Iron Fist, which will premiere ahead of all four characters coming together in Marvel's The Defenders.
