The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding to Freeform. The network, formerly known as ABC Family, has given a straight-to-series order to Marvel's Cloak and Dagger, Variety reports.
The drama is about two teenagers, Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, who must navigate their newly acquired superpowers and developing romance. Their complementary powers - Tandy can shoot light daggers and Tyrone can engulf others in darkness - means the pair makes a far better team than solo heroes, but their feelings for each make this union complicated. Though — let's be real — having a crush on your vigilante teammate pales in comparison to the complications of waking up to discover you have superpowers. But to each his own, we guess.
No writer is currently attached to the series, but Marvel Television and ABC Signature will co-produce.
