It might not be part of the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that doesn't mean we aren't over the moon to hear about the latest addition to Marvel's roster of TV shows. Coming out of Disney's bi-annual convention, D23 Expo 2019, Disney Channel is bringing Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur to life.

The animated series, based on the Marvel Comic of the same name, follows the adventures of 13-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette and her 10-ton T-Rex, Devil Dinosaur. After Lunella accidentally brings Devil Dinosaur into present-day New York City via a time vortex, the duo works together to protect the city's Lower East Side from danger.

Every Marvel Movie Expected to Come Out After 2021, Including Blade

Executive producer Laurence Fishburne made the announcement, explaining to the crowd, "As an avid comic book fan, I am thrilled to be involved with Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Disney Channel is the perfect platform to explore this pint-sized female African American superhero and I can't wait for their audience to enjoy the lighthearted adventures of Lunella and Devil Dinosaur."

No airdate is set for the upcoming series, let alone a voice cast. That just gives us something to look forward to in the meantime.
